This swallowtail has an amazing combination of colors. It has patches of lavender, blue-green and silvery blue. This is the only swallowtail that has purple on its wings. It is found in forest mountain regions of Papua, New Guinea and neighboring islands. It flies between 4,500 and 8,000 feet in elevation. It is rarely seen below 4,000 feet. It is a high flier.
